Teaser Tuesday- Love Story, by Jennifer Echols (#2)

Title: Love Story
Author: Jennifer Echols
Pages: 243
Publisher: MTV Books
Goodreads Rating: 3.70
The Blurb:
She's writing about him. he's writing about her. And everybody is reading between the lines..
For Erin Blackwell, majoring in creative writing at the New York City college of her dreams is more than a chance to fulfill her ambitions--it's her ticket away from the tragic memories that shadow her family's racehorse farm in Kentucky. But when she refuses to major in business and take over the farm herself someday, her grandmother gives Erin's college tuition and promised inheritance to their maddeningly handsome stable boy, Hunter Allen. Now Erin has to win an internship and work late nights at a coffee shop to make her own dreams a reality. She should despise Hunter . . . so why does he sneak into her thoughts as the hero of her latest writing assignment?

Then, on the day she's sharing that assignment with her class, Hunter walks in. He's joining her class. And after he reads about himself in her story, her private fantasies about him must be painfully clear. She only hopes to persuade him not to reveal her secret to everyone else. But Hunter devises his own creative revenge, writing sexy stories that drive the whole class wild with curiosity and fill Erin's heart with longing. Now she's not just imagining what might have been. She's writing a whole new ending for her romance with Hunter . . . except this story could come true.

Excerpt:

``He is here for you!´´ she insisted.
``He's cutting faces for Jordis,´´ I corrected her. ``Everybody in the dorm has cut faces for Jordis at one time or another.´´
``Yes, but most of them didn't come back for more.´´
She had a point. And, truth be told, I did think Hunter was there for me. I just didn't know why. I huffed out a sigh and hissed, ``He's already got my inheritance, my tuition and a career at my farm. He has no reason to flirt with me, sometimes, and sometimes insult me and try to make me feel awful about breaking away from my grandmother.´´
``He likes you,´´ Summer whispered. ``More than likes. He's interested in you romantically.´´
``Oh, yeah? Then why did he feel up that blonde at the party in the bathroom?´´
``He was trying to make you jealous,´´ Summer said with exaggerated patience, ``just like in the story. He is giving you obvious hints, and you are choosing not to take them.´´

Reasons Why You Need To Read This Book:

- Because it's a book about writing books, and it's as cool as that sounds.
- Because seeing a romance develop in little stories written by the main characters is so cute!
- Because Hunter is too sexy for anyone's own good.
- Because Erin follows her dream of being a writer whatever the cost. That's one example to follow, isn't she?
- Because it's one nice love story (thus the title). I particularly liked the hospital scene, they were super cute there.

Teaser Tuesday - Paranormalcy, by Kiersten White

Teaser Tuesday is a meme in which I open a random book at a random page and give you some random paragraph (teaser) that catches your attention.
Today's book is Paranormalcy, by Kiersten White

Series: Paranormalcy #1
Pages: 335
Publisher: HarperTeen
Other Books By The Author: Supernaturally
The Blurb: Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal

I shoved the flat of the blade against his chest and he let go of my hand, backing up a step. Iron is the best against faeries, but they aren’t fans of silver either. ``Enough,´´ I mouthed, pointing to my neck. Glaring, he flicked his hand and my throat tingled.
``Why are you fighting this?´´
``Because you’re a lunatic! I don’t want this! I don’t belong to you! I never will.´´
A half smile twisted his perfect face. ``You’re wrong.´´
Reasons why you need to read this book:
·        Because of the chapter titles. They are the most hilarious ever. (Eg: Faerly Stupid; Dumbbells, Boys and Other Dense Things; Hey, Stupid…)
·        Because Evie’s love for lockers isn’t normal.
·        Because Lend is just too sweet.
·        Because it’s light and so funny, it’s fantastic.
·        Because I want a taser called Tasey that is pink with rhinestones and with which I can capture vampires.
·        Because being nicknamed ‘stupid’ isn’t nearly as nice as it sounds.
·        You know, because I say so. It’s too good to miss it. Like your teacher would tell you, it’s for your own good.
So what are you waiting for? Go read it! And until then, comment and tell me what you think of it!
